Recycle 70% of paper, plastic, glass and metals present in municipal solid waste by 2030; get 80% of all packaging between 2025 and 2030 is recycled; increase the total landfilling 5% for 2030; prohibit the thermal treatment of recyclable material and exclude the practice of recycling of inert filler are just some of the objectives of the Ecomondo Fair, held in Rimini (Italy) last 3 to 6 November and where Transambiental was also present. As we have mentioned several times, part of our philosophy is facing the respect for the environment and for this reason, our presence at this event, given its characteristics, it was a priority.
The figures give us an idea of the magnitude and importance of this event: 103 514 visitors (1.68% compared to 2014) in the four days; innovative and interesting proposals of 1200 enterprises, 200 seminars with over 1,000 speakers; participation of foreign representatives around the world which led to 11,000 buyers and 500 operators worldwide; and more than 500 journalists. In this regard it is noteworthy the high representation of the countries of Iran and China.
During the celebration of Ecomondo have tried various issues related to the impact of companies on our environment and how we can reduce or optimize this waste. Among them it has spoken of the general state of business in Italy in terms of environmental impact, concluding that green represents 42% of the total in that country. Most part of the industrial sector, followed by construction and agriculture.
This year we have introduced, apart from the many themes treated during those four days of exhibition, new comparison areas as food, world biorefineries, sea and other sectors new and interesting under one view of circular economy.
Ecomondo is reaffirmed as a fully perceived as ecological fair business appointment and international character, perception results in transactions and relationships with new markets also in mind the impact of the ecological footprint. Also, already it has announced that in 2016 the green economy fairs will take place in Rimini Fiera (Italy) from Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 November.
